Next Generation Basketball is a program for basketball players who are looking to improve all aspects of their basketball skills. Coach David Spielvogel is a former High School all county basketball player at Plant High School in Tampa, Florida. Coach Spielvogel received a basketball and academic scholarship from Eckerd College (Division II College in St. Petersburg, Florida) where he received a degree in Business Management and also improved his knowledge for the game of basketball. After graduating from Eckerd College, Coach Spielvogel was hired as an Office Manager / Legal Asst. with a law firm in Tampa, Florida. From 1992 until 1996 Coach Spielvogel was hired to coach basketball at Plant High School as the Freshmen and Junior Varsity Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach.
Next Generation Basketball is not an introductory program or a daycare. Next Generation Basketball is a program for basketball players who have basketball skills and desire to take their game to the next level. Coach Spielvogel’s mission is to provide individual and group instruction to young basketball players ages 10 – 13 yrs old. Such instruction will include: Offensive Skills - Shooting, Passing, Ball Handling, Rebounding, Footwork, Moving Without the Ball, etc. Defensive Skills – Stance, Footwork, Man-to-Man, Zone. This program will include a special emphasis on point guard and shooting guard play (i.e. seeing the entire floor when the point guard has the ball, floor leadership, confidence, using floor angles, footwork, balance, looking to score, etc.)
